Automated call from the "Dealer Processing Department" calling about my car's warranty. It's a 10 year old car and hasn't been under warranty in years, so I don't think so! I received the exact same call from 858-842-9007 today also.
Called me and a robovoice told me the warranty on my 16 year old car just expired and asked if I wanted to speak to a person. I said yes and it hung up on me.
Same thing happened here at the shop that I work at. Call showed coming from Tiptonville, TN. I was going to speak to a rep. and when I said yes, the phone just went blank then it started popping in the background so I knew it had hung up on me. 2nd day this has happened, think yesterday was from another number though. I just wanted them to specify which vehicle since we are just a repair shop and don't deal in warranties.
I got a call saying my warranty expired. They quoted me a price to renew the warranty, and when I said no thanks, the rep said "No [***]!". Then, he hung up on me.
Sounds like a new twist on the old "get you to say Yes" scam
There was a scam where a robocall would call and get people to say yes. They would record that then use your voice recording to get sign up for all kinds of stuff.
