In my case they called my friend asking for my where abouts but today they called my phone and left a message stating felony charges were pressed against me and that if I don't respond a warrant would be issued for my arrest. I fell into the trap once before and paid $900 but when the call happened again I went to get legal assistance and was told not to respond or call them back and to verify the number like I did just now and so happy this was here. On 8/14/2015 9:03am scam caller Kevin Webb leaves a voicemail on my cell phone. "This message is intended for a (my full name). (He starts by addressing my last name) my name is Kevin Webb and I am an attorney with the law firm of Brooks and Morgan. I am contacting you in regards to a case that I have pending in my office for a (states my nephews full name), I'm to understand that to be a relative of yours. (States my nephew first name) has a very serious pending felony fraud case here in my office with multiple charges listed against his name and his social. If you have any contact with this individual or if you can get a message to him, I need you to contact the firm back immediately. I can be reached at 832-532-4209 govern yourself accordingly."
Now the scary part is he sounds American with a thick Texas accent There is no firm by that name nor an attorney named Kevin Webb. These individuals can easily search the Internet for family members, their social, and public records which whether the crime is true or not will prey on family members to extort payment or contact the individual to extort money. The Internet is public record and has information on each of us which we can't avoid..addresses..phone numbers..family members. Social security numbers..work..it is scary..Don't fall for any of it. Don't respond and report it to local enforcement. This guy has complaints all over the Internet!
