Same exact message left on my phone. I do work on occasion for the FI & the dapartment of IRS is one of them. I called a Special Agent that I know. She told me #1 We don't call you. #2 We don't tell you we are sending an officer to arrest you #3 The IRS communicates through the USPS & it is not uncommon for it to come certified mail. This is a hoax. Simply block their number &/,or tell them you will contact the IRS yourself and handle anything dealing with the IRS directly. When I did that they hung up on me. They forget that not everyone scares very easy. They come off sounding professionals even give you their badge #. They are creeps preying on the elderly & people who don't know better.
Scam scam scam. Block this number. I asked the caller "where he was calling from? India?" He said fro the IRS and blah blah.....so I responded by saying "Your accent is international accent, but for one, as long as I remembered, I have never had any problems with the IRS. Second, IRS sends letters, NOT a phone call, at least from my understanding. And third, are you a scam?" His attitude immediately changed and said "ok fine wait til we contact the FBI to come to your house" then hanged up! I laughed cause he asked for my address and I totally gave him the wrong address. That's how I knew this guy was a scam!!!
Just got the same call from "Jack" in Tomball, TX. Knew it was a scam.
When in doubt, call the IRS direct. Don't trust a call from a recorded mechanical voice. Ever.
