This was a recorded message about getting help with student loan help. Says if you have more than $10,000 in debt they might be able to reduce your amount owed or even get it written off.
The thing about this recording is this is the 4th number I have blocked with the same message. I just blocked the 3rd number yesterday and get the same call again today from 281-231-0151.
Not really sure how to solve this one.
They just called me. The recorded messg said their records show I had more than 10k in student loan debt and I may have recently had trouble making the payments. I don't have more then 10k student loan debt and I've always been current on the small amount I do have. So I asked where they got their information from. The dude on the other end said "do you want us to save you money or not?". I replied I didn't trust them and wanted to verify how they got my info. He said they were the Deparment of Education. Oh really? Your an employee of the Department of Education? Whats your address if your legitimate? Then he hung up. Probably not with the DOE.
Keep getting the calls from different numbers. My son can't pay every time on the loan because his work keeps cutting hours. Don't know what to do. These calls are probably a scam.
They are a scam. I just got the call, too, and I've been paying more than what I owe every month for the last 3 years. He can contact the Fed Student Loan office if he wants a detail of all of his loans or wants help getting them as low as possible, or just explaining his situation to them.
