Idiots calling trying to collet on debts with old phone numbers. I have had my number since 2001 yet they are harrasing me about some debt from the 1990s.
Got a call from 281-241-1778 3/28/13 They left a call back munber if 855 818-7988. They were trying to collect on a returned item, whatever that is. Threatening to file suit and said they were Northeast Credit Solutions. I had a previous call from the 855 number 2 weeks prior and also threatening suit saying that my wife had written a bad check and they would take it to the fullest extent of the law at this time a Barbara Winters said that she was from Northern Resolutions, same number. I talked to her and she didn't even know what she was talking about except that this debt was from 2009 and now it wasn't a bad check, but a line of credit that was taken out at a banking institution.. I advised her that this is when my wifes personal information was stolen and a lot of debt was taken out in her name and that the Secret Service had caught the person responsible and that there were police reports etc filed. She gave me a number to fax police report to that is listed to a Linda Williams at 546 1/2 10th Street Niagara Falls NY. I called the institution that she said the debt was to and they had no record of my wife having taken out a loan or writing a bad check and advised me to not send anything to this scam company. After doing research it appears that this company buys bad debt from some of the high interest paycheck companies (these people also prey on people in need) and try to collect through intimidation. Looks to me like one scammer has scammed another and I will not be made part of it.
