Same as the others, call came in from Danka with several Hello's. In lieu of the recent Officer shooting imagine these scums will prey on the good intentions of everyone feeling sad for the Goforth family. Don't even bother with answering your phone.
We received a call from this number, early April 2015. They asked for my husband by first name, wanting to know if he was home. I said, "No, but may I take a message for him?" They rudely hung up. I called the number back and received a recording that offered me two options (1) to wait for next available agent, and (2) to have your number removed from their list. I selected #2. I then called the number again to select Option #1 (to speak with an agent)... Then, what appeared to be a recording rambled on saying... "...this is ____ calling on behalf of the National Police and Troopers Association...." (at least I think that's what was said)... then a man's voice started saying, "Hello? Hello?"... as if to imply "yes, you called, so what do you want!!!" I said, "Yes, you called earlier to speak to my husband, and....." But, he quickl;y cut me off and said: "sorry about that, you have a nice day..." and he rudely hung up, again! Very suspicious call, and "IF" it is a legitimate charity, they're very rude... and apparently have no interest in receiving donations! That said, I'm considering this a scam. SO BEWARE! P.S. Since I had called a 2nd time, to speak with an agent (to learn more about there agency), I was afraid my Phone Number had inadvertently reappeared on their "CALL LIST". Therefore, I promptly dialled them again to select Option #2 (a 2nd time), reiterating that our number be removed from their list.
Received call 07-27-15. This is some sort of scam in the guise of donations for police officers. These bottom feeders used to call from San Antonio. I once looked them up---They offer a scam where they donate the MINIMUM (I think 8%) and pocket the rest.
But you can donate to the 100 Club. The 100 club is worthwhile & honest.
Made the mistake of answering as I was expecting a call and it was in my area code. Some sheriff's association looking for monetary donations. When I told him I was on a fixed income and had no additional funds, he said, "Well, how about a one time donation of $50!" My response, "Did you not understand the first time I said NO?" And I said thank you and hung up.
