I received a call from this joker today saying he was from DEA Settle office and I needed to answer some important questions. My ID said the call was from Texas and the man spoke poor English/ I told him I wasn't answering any questions and I knew he was a fraud.
call in at 7:15 a.m. claimed he was a deputy (?) and gave a badge number, claimed he was looking for a Monica A*. Sounded like a cell phone, not an office phone that law enforcement would be using. He apologized and hung up - not sure if this is real.
Just found another site - this is a fake DEA scam. There is a website with this info too, http://wafflesatnoon.com/2013/03/27/scam-alert-fake-dea-extortion-calls/ , and apparently "they" are getting info from online loan apps. Evidently the person he's trying to scam used a wrong number, or he couldn't dial correctly. I was very abrupt, so perhaps he knew he wouldn't get far with me and changed tactics?
Their advice: just hang up, and if possible block the number.
Called me and left message. Agent Kevin Miller, enforcement agent with DEA. Gave Badge Number, and
tried to sound Important, etc.
Warrant had been issued for my arrest due to On-Line Ordering of Phenetrine Medications. If I were to
pay fine now, I could avoid Court & possible Prison Term. But had to act ASAP.
This Scam is sooo old it's almost Funny.
Called back 1 week later from pay phone and got female recording saying you had reached to the office
of Kevin Miller, DEA. Don't they have normal business hours? LOL
Wrote it off as too funny to worry about.
I got scammed this morning for 200.00 that I didn't really afford to loose. His name was John Wheeler with the DEA Badge 711. He threatened to send me to jail for ordering prescription's from outside the US. I took some notes as I was under some duress. I am on SSI Disability for medical issues. and memory problems. That is why I was scammed. I don't want to have anybody else to go thru this. It'll never happen again. But I took the notes to remember the discussion. So good luck if you call this number. It's bogus, and [***]. Don't get scammed. Call your Attorney Generals office and report this scam. DON'T DO IT!!
I also received a call from a so called Johnny Wheeler he also threatened me with being arrested for ordering prescription drugs online. He called my job telling me if I didn't cooperate with him that he would send agents in to arrest me, he even researched the area surrounding my job and told me where he had agents placed at, he knew street names and all. When I wouldn't cooperated he told me that I was going to be arrested and he was sending agents in now so I called his bluff and told him to do it. Needless to say, I'm still waiting to be arrested. I've now turned the tables and I've been calling him back to back threatening him with jail. I'm so sorry you were scammed out of $200.00. These [***] think they're so slick but they've called the right person this time. I'm not going to stop until he's caught.
