Got a call at 8:00pm, caller ID listed as "Texas Call". Cross referencing does bring it up as a Houston, TX, cell phone. Caller asked for homeowners by name, stated correct address, said it was a "federal matter". When I started grilling him with questions, he stammered for answers. He got very flustered when I told him to send a federal agent to the house to discuss this federal matter with the homeowners. He is clearly not a federal agent. I'm not sure what his end game is, but it cannot be anything good. I hope this helps someone avoid any trouble from this caller.
Received the call at 8:30 pm on 11/5/10. A female stammering on our name and claiming to be with some "Green Energy Company" When I told her that she could be reported for calling a number on the federal "Do Not Call" list and that she should not call our number again or I would report her. She told me I was rude when I told her she must be stupid if she does not know what Do Not Call Means. Claims she is "highly intelligent" and I insulted her. Also claims that she can call anyone before 9pm.
Gentleman said he was with Eco Green, inquired as to what our electric and gas bills were and even though they were low, said we qualified for a grant from the gov. that could be up to $5,000. I would not set up a time for someone to come out and tell us how we could cut down on our energy consumption without checking with my husband and asked him to call back. He called back the next day, I said we weren't interested and he was really disappointed and said he was counting on us as I sounded interested. I said that we knew we could change out the windows and things like that but we didn't have the budget to do that and he said, no that is what this grant is for and that is why the person comes out to tell us about it. I told him a few more times we weren't interested before the call was over.
Caller ID says Jacob E. Hangs up whenever we pick up the phone. Tried returning the call and it went to automated machine "This person has not set up a voice mailbox yet. Goodbye."
