These guys are crooks...! Starting from the guys that drives a Mercedez that things he is a big shot when he is not... IF YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET IT
I regret dealing with these CROOKS!! I place 7 accounts for collections. My controller / A/R department received a call from them offering services for collections. We placed 12 accounts with Roma, Kirshbaum & Schmidt. Over the following months I could not get an update and no one would return my calls. We later found out these CROOKS collected all the money. One of the owners later called me, Mr. Estevez. He said he would look into the matter, but if I did not like services I could cancel. I later cancelled my accounts, a few days later then they charged me an enormous 75% cancellation charge and told me they would send balance to me. Till this day I have not received a nickel!! DO NO PLACE ANYTHING WITH THESE CON ARTIST, CROOKS!!
Here are some of phone numbers they called me from:
This company Roma, Kirshbaum & Schmidt (Rudy Estevez) will steal your hard earned money. If you placed accounts with them; call all your clients back and tell them not to pay them but to send the payment to you directly. If Roma, Kirshbaum & Schmidt threatens to go after you for not remitting their share for work they didn't do, tell them you'll see them in court. They will not show up to court because they are the BIGGEST CROOKS. If they call you about being a certified fraud investigator (RUN) !!...they are full of crap. Don't pay them because they will put you in a bad position with your customers.
This company is a joke!! Don't do business with them or you will regret it!!! They will tell you about suing, field investigations, taking pictures, knocking on doors....but they are full of bullshi#!!
They stole my money and ruined my business relationship with former client/customers.
I had a guy, David Ross, call me from Roma, Kirshbaum & Schmidt claiming to be an attorney about a bad debt. I explained to him our situation, there were many factors as to why we had not paid this debt off, but had been making payments. He told me his client wanted it paid off and he was willing to make a settlement. He said he was speaking to his clients the next day and then would call me at 11am to let me know if the settlement amount he offered me, they would accept. I waited for 3 hours with no word. He did leave me a message later that evening, but said we had until the 20th of the month to resolve this. Being a small struggling business I had work planned both Friday and Monday and had planned to contact Mr Ross on Tues. Mr. Ross called our customer on Monday threatening them and saying they were responsible for our debt, which they are not. He also lied and told them some crazy story and said I told them they had never paid me. All of which wasn't true. He either heard every 3rd word and filled in the blanks or just rearranged everything I said to confuse our customer. Either way his client is not getting paid through him, our customer will never use us a again and we may have a lawsuit coming out of this. Putting us out of business doesn't get anyone paid. lying and giving me a week and then 3 days later calling my customer, which you had no right to do is unethical, not that I think they are ethical. I have called the licensing board in MD and no one can find a collection license. I am pursuing that with the state and looking into some federal laws that might have been broken as they shared my personal information without consent. If you owe a debt, don't talk to these people, called who you owe it to and work it out. Anything they say is a lie. If you are collecting debt, make sure they have a license in your area and if you just want to run someone out of business and not get your money, these are the guys to us. If you actually want your money, find another collections firm!!
These modern day cowboy's will rob you blind. They'll tell you whatever you want to hear. They will collect you money fast; with their assets research and field investigators to locate assets. At the end of the day; you'll be chasing them to collect your money. They talk to you about suing your old customers in order to get your money because they can't and want you to pay up to recover the cost (usually around $1,000 to $2,500). They can refer you over to an attorney they claim to have in house cheap...WEIRD!!?? Why won't they keep working it for free as they claimed to be able to ???
However what I've found out is that they try to broker it out to someone who has no clue what's happing on you receivables....all lies from beginning to ending from Roma, Kirshbaum & Schmidt Inc including Rudy Estevez.....he's the biggest liar of them all!!! ...they stole $30,000 from me which I found out later from my customer which paid directly to them.
Don't waste your time with the owner either; he's a real piece of work ...all the partners.
