Dec. 7, 2016, 3:14 PM - prerecorded call for free govt. phone from "301-123-1686, Unavailable" to my cell phone that is on the national DNC list. Same prerecorded call as others recently stating that the US govt. issuing free cell phone. I pressed 1 to get to a rep. I was on hold for awhile, and heard several prerecorded messages in male voices,with short pause between each message:
- "Don't hang up, we're getting someone . . ."
- "Did you know that you can pick the color of your phone. . ."
- "Did you know that you can pick [the plan or something like that]
- "Thanks for holding, you are #1 in the que."
Finally, a guy with an Indian accent came on. I asked questions right away, about who called, and got him to say the phones were Entouch Wireless. I then said I don't qualify, which the guy asked me about a few times, before saying goodbye.
They keep calling and only let it ring 2 or 3 times before they hang up. I'm told they are from overseas and a scam to con us out of personal info to use against us. I never pick up.
