SO RUDE. Called them from work because they kept calling my house and never left a message. When I gave them my home phone number (which is UNLISTED and on every DO NOT CALL list I can think of), they told me they were looking for "Jane Doe". I told them there's no "Jane Doe" at that number and to delete the number from their list. The operator told me, "You sound like you have some anger in your voice. Your anger shouldn't be directed at us, it should be directed at Jane Doe, because she's the one who gave us this number as a contact" then he HANGS UP ON ME. I called back and got a different operator, and I made sure I was sweet as pie with her, and she agreed to remove the number. Let's see how long THAT lasts!
Asset Assurance has been calling me 3 times daily since 12/28/11. They are indeed RUDE, They don't care if you aren't the person in question and that your Social doesn't match the one they are looking for. Today I was asleep and missed picking up the phone (I pick it up and lay it down to charge a call against them and to record it on my phone) and a recording said "This call is for Porsha, If you are not Porsha, hang up the phone". Of course I did but it won't matter. According to Wikipedia there is a class action law suit against them by Trans Union and "other individuals". I filled out two sets of forms from the FCC for both numbers they call on and got a letter back today that they are the wrong agency and referred me to the Federal Trade Commission, ftc.gov. There I filled out an online form much simpler than the FCC. I urge all to do this. We all need to take them to task. I just had to stop typing to answer yet another of their calls. That is two in the past hour!!
