Really tired of these calls on my answering machine. You would think that this site would provide information on how to stop the calls. Time consuming and annoying.
This is the "Federal Magistrate" scam. They are going to come get you and this is your last chance to save yourself since you haven't responded to all their previous contacts. Want you to call them back so they can get your checking account info, your credit card numbers and your firstborn son.
Got a call 5/10/16 and 8:34 am from this number, stating they were calling from the US Treasury regarding an enforcement & it was there second and final attempt (never got a first) to contact me or criminal action would be taken. Ok....owe no taxes on anything, everything is current. Don't think so.
Left recorded message telling me to call back to resolve this issue or face penalties or jail time. Excuse me!!?? If anything...someone owes me money!! I do not owe the IRS...they owe me!
I have no judgements, no liens, don't own a house, nothing. So it's obvious this is a scam!
So you can all stop biting your finger nails now...nobody is suing you.
Caller ID said Williamsport, MD...if this was a legit call..then they would use their real name...not just a city and state.
Yup, they left me an incomplete Voice Mail a couple of hours ago about a final notice before I have to appear before a federal magistrate. They're going to have to wait a mighty long time before I call them back.
