Had my name, number & address and wanted to verify it... said he was calling in regards to my Washington Gas Energy bill. Offered 10% off my gas bill for the next 2 months and some other offer--I could not understand through his thick Indian accent. He asked me for my Washington Gas account number. If he is calling about my gas bill, I would assume he has my account number!? I told him I did not have the number and he said he would call back in a half an hour while I looked for my acct. number. It is a third party--not affiliated with the gas company; they will switch your energy supplier resulting in a discounted rate for 2 months, followed (I'm sure) by a much higher rate after. (Like a low APR credit card offer expiring.) Washington Gas knows about this, as they are the ones who supply the names & numbers to the telemarketers! Ugh. So if you do not want to end your contract with your current energy supplier (we have a locked in, low rate right now) do not give them your account number.
True did not leave message. this is not the first received call from this number. Several times on different days, answered the phone, and then whom ever was on the line hung up without response.
