I just downloaded "TrueCaller" an android app from the play store. It flagged this number as having 32 spam reports and apparently would have blocked the call. It looks like a promising app.
Over the past several weeks I've been getting calls about every other day from this same number from "Brandywine, MD" to my personal cell phone (I see 8 calls in my recent history).
Very annoying!
Two or three times I've picked-up, and after about 6 "hellos" they finally come on the line after 10 or so seconds to start their pitch. I curtly tell them this is a personal line, not to be used for sales calls. Hasn't stopped the the calls.
So finally, I just blocked this number on my iphone (first time I've needed to do this).
I was in a class (I facilitate) when this call came to my personal cell (which is my ONLY phone). Even though I live within this area code, my rule of never answering a call I don't recognize still stands. It rang, stopped ringing, and then rang again. Left no voicemail. So I came here to see if others were being bothered by this number, and yes, you are. So - back to my hassle free existence of never answering calls I don't recognize. And even numbers I might be familiar with, I'll let go to voicemail. It keeps the stress at an all-time low. I have been (and probably still am) the target for specific scams, but "they" can't get me to bite because I just don't answer the phone. Got a "Pre-approved" credit card letter with a dummy card inside (it stated there was such a card on the outside of the envelop) via snail mail. The MAIN problem with it was: it came in my former name - which is the name associated with all the scams over the past 6 years. So - they're trying to trace my whereabouts (not difficult to do by any means) - but I simply placed the envelop in the spot where the letter carrier could return it to sender. My message: THAT person doesn't live here. I swear!
