Got a call from this number 301 271 8070 on my cell phone. I answered it and immediately a male voice says "This is the sales department congratulations you have won a sweepstakes....I tried to ask "what sales department?" no reply voice kept going. I asked "Is this a recording?" voice continued. I had to stop/hang up the call. Obviously some kind of sales spam thing.
The same number called my cell and did not leave a message (I did not answer). The only way to make these calls stop is to submit an FCC complaint for every call (time/date). Hefty fines will prevail but it requires diligence to submit a complain. I do it regularly and it does make the calls subside. https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us
I see there are no reports for this number; another site listed it as spam/scammers. I may have seen another number from this location ( Thurmont, MD). Didn't answer and no message left. What a surprise, not!
