I also got a call claiming to be interested in selling me an extended warranty for my car. I purposely told him my car had 426,000 miles on it and he immediately hung up. This is no doubt a sweat shop phone operation being operated out of the Philippines that somehow uses hop-skotch telephone ID numbers which are from the local DC area. There is no way these calls are being originated from the U.S. Next time you get one of these calls, ask them what physical location are they making the call from and press them for an answer....This is the same setup as the bogus WINDOWS TECHNICAL SUPPORT calls that I have been getting as well. These people can BARELY speak English yet they claim to be selling American products and in some cases "representing" Microsoft. I think they skirt the DO NOT CALL laws by hop skotching into the U.S..... I don't know the technology that allows this, but it's a huge nuisance and I intend to let my local elected officials know about it.
Claim to be calling from a national car warrenty processing center. I have gotten 24 calls in the last 5 days at both my home and cell. They do not care that you are on a "Do Not Call list" or if you tell them you no longer own the car. I am very curious how they get the car information. Making them stop is another issue.

Called me then transferred me to supervisor who said I called them because I was interested in an extended warranty. Would not tell me name of company. Identified themselves as Car Warranty Department.
I received a call from this number this morning. The caller said he was calling from "vehicle processing center" about the warrantee on my car. He wanted me to tell him the mileage on my car -- he knew the make, model and year. I hung up.
