I also got a call claiming to be interested in selling me an extended warranty for my car. I purposely told him my car had 426,000 miles on it and he immediately hung up. This is no doubt a sweat shop phone operation being operated out of the Philippines that somehow uses hop-skotch telephone ID numbers which are from the local DC area. There is no way these calls are being originated from the U.S. Next time you get one of these calls, ask them what physical location are they making the call from and press them for an answer....This is the same setup as the bogus WINDOWS TECHNICAL SUPPORT calls that I have been getting as well. These people can BARELY speak English yet they claim to be selling American products and in some cases "representing" Microsoft. I think they skirt the DO NOT CALL laws by hop skotching into the U.S..... I don't know the technology that allows this, but it's a huge nuisance and I intend to let my local elected officials know about it.
Got the same call. A lot of static. Number shows Aspen Hill. MD. The caller did not speak English very well. They knew the year, make and model. Told th
Not to call again. Time will tell
Keep receiving calls fro this number and they never leave a message and when I call the number back recording says this number is not in service. How can you keep getting calls from a number that is not in service???????
These people call several times a day for the last several weeks. They never say anything; they just hold the line open for about 10 seconds, then hang up. When I try to call them back, the number is said to be inactive. This is beyond simply annoying. It should not be possible to call someone from a number that can not be called back.
Several calls in past few days. I think they got my name and car model/year from DarCars Toyota since the car is actually registered and titled in my wife's name, and only DarCars has any association of the car to me from their service department. They have sold this information in the past, and I stopped doing business with them and started using Fitzgerald instead. Went back recently for warranty service because I didn't want to drive all the way to Fitzgerald service with the issue I was having, and 2 months later, these calls start again.
