Wow I have an unlisted number, and ever since I gave birth to my child, I have been having all sorts of unavailable or unknown calls calling my house asking for me, I hang up I dont have time to deal with them, now this healthstream one is calling. The hospital must give our number out, I dont think this is right!
This is from a survey company that is doing this in conjunction with a visit or stay that you may have had. The only reason I know this is because my son went to the ER last week, and while we were waiting, i noticed they had a paper posted on the wall saying that a 'random' sample of patients would be contacted and asked for a survey of their stay. It went on to say that it would not deal with the specifics of your injury/disease/malady, but the quality of service and care that you had received. While I do not work for or in the healthcare industry, i can understand why they are calling. As far as the do not call listings, as long as you have done business with them - i.e. being a patient, they do have a right to call you.
These people are pond scum trying to get doctors to lower fees only to take a commission out of the savings and they say they try to save patients money. Most health insurance companies contract with negotiators that attempt to have docs lower fees to save patients money but that never works. DO NOT TALK TO THEM OR GIVE THEM ANY INFO!! HIPPA IS BEING VIOLATED BY THE INS COMPANY GIVING YOUR INFO OUT TO THESE PEOPLE!
