I received a call from this number and said he was from the US Treasury Dept. He stated that I had won a check for $9,900 and I would have to call back to verified my info. Then he hung up. I told him that the gov't doesn't call to offer money to US citizens, stop scamming people.
Received a call stating they were from the US Treasury Dept. and that I was granted $9,900 and could receive it by bank account, Western Union, Money Gram, or debit or credit card. The first time I was contacted, I was told that it was $9,000.
Received a call from a strong accented female, stating that she was with the US Treasury Dept, I had been selected to receive a grant of $5,000 that I would never have to pay back. She knew my full name, mailing address and the last 4 of my social security #, she also knew my enough about my banking business that I was fearful of what they may do. I gave her a bogus acccount number, told her I had closed the other account recently and this was my new one. I did not trust her because when I asked why I was not notified via mail, she immediately responded that there was a letter sent out, that this grant was because O'Bama was trying to boost the economy, they were just doing followup. She gave me a ID number and another number to call, which I did. THe equaly strong accented male that ansered asked for this ID I gave it to him, then told him that I worked for a local SHerrif's office, this call was being recorded, he hung up on me. We called back, went thru the same routine, he then told me to never call this number again. Some US Treasury people need customer Service training, lol
