I love it! I do the same thing when they call. I tell them I am Sheriff so & so and they called a crime scene. They will not need to cooperate with me by giving me information I need or the police will be sent to arrest them. It is a crime to not cooperate with the police in an investigation. What is your full name and complete address. What is you ss #, what is the complete name and address of the company you work for, and what is the complete name and address of the owner of the company. Usually, they hang up before getting this far.
These low lives have called before with same spoof number in Rehoboth, DE. They must like to talk to my fax machine since they have made my land line unusable. I only use it for outgoing calls all incoming calls goes straight to fax machine yet they call and call and call. Well they can keep calling because I will never speak to them but my fax machine loves the work out.
I tried using the fax machine as a call blocker and unfortunately it did not stop them. The calls coming through with a recording don't care about the fax noise and will just keep trying. Only a blocker or a whitelist will slow them down. Notice I said "slow them down". They will never stop their criminal behavior because hope springs eternal that they will snag someone who is not aware of their scamminess.
The DNC list is only used by reputable business. Criminals will continue to call you and that is why they are called criminals. Do not answer and get a call blocker. You will slow them down but they will never go away. It is that pesky CRIMINAL thought process that makes them persist in the hopes of catching someone unaware. No one here can stop them. You must take personal responsibility for your own phone. Stay Safe!
