I received a call from this number 302-300-4775 staying that I needed to make myself available between the hours of 12 and 5 on a certain day so that I could sign for some legal documents for a legal matters that had been filed with my name associated with it. I block these calls immediately!
Same as above callers are saying... Lindsay was my caller's name and she said I need to make myself available tomorrow between 10 and 4 to sign documents that will be served to me.
Same thing as above identified herself as lyndsey shaffer saying i needed to make myself available between 1-5pm to sign papers and left number to call if wanted to be taken off of their service list to call (888) 742-8594 called number it rang twice then made a weird noice then disconnected. Crazy thing is my dad and i got the phone call a week apart.
In addition to this call, I have received 9 other calls from this criminal group since May 4, as follows:
• I received 4 calls from a caller who identified himself as Rick Powers with NARG. He claims that documents have been filed with his office in a pre-legal matter associated with my name and social security number. He says that I need to contact his office and provide my attorney's name and a financial statement by next Friday. Legal action is threatened if I don't comply. The last 2 calls from him were even more threatening. The phone number to call is the same number called from. Phone numbers/Caller IDs used by this scumbag were: 281-909-4022/Seabrook, TX; 718-690-3386/Austin, TX (718 is actually the area code for Brooklyn, NY); 916-674-5292/Sloughhouse, CA and 205-543-5210/Warrior, AL.
• Another caller from this group identified herself as Lindsey Shaffer, a private courier. She also called me 4 times. She says she has sealed documents requiring my signature and that I need to make myself available tomorrow between 12 and 5. If I have questions, or if I want to put in a stop order, I am to contact the filing party at 888-742-8597. No one showed up after any of her calls. Phone numbers/caller ID's used by her: 281-909-4022/Seabrook, TX, 614-980-0375/Columbus, OH and 888-742-8597/8887428597.
• There was 1 call from a Bree Sanders at phone number 614-980-0375. Caller ID showed Columbus, OH. She said I have been deemed to be non-compliant in a claim, resulting in my file being flagged and turned over to their recovery department. They need an immediate response today and I am to call the 614 number.
If you cross reference all of the phone numbers, you will see that some numbers are common among all of the callers, a sure sign that these calls are all connected to the same organization. All calls were recorded messages, and on one of them, Rick Powers seemed to stumble a bit, leading me to believe he was reading from a script he wasn’t familiar with.
None of the callers address you by your name. It is obvious that the calls are random. I did not speak to any of these people. I let my answering machine answer anytime I don't recognize the caller ID and I never call them back. I suggest anyone seeing this do the same. I took this information to the Schaumburg, Illinois police department, and they have verified that all of the phone numbers are scammer phone numbers. Because of the threatening nature of some of the calls, they have opened case #16-12086 in order to look in to this matter.
This is a scam to try to extort money from unsuspecting and vulnerable people. As I said before, the calls are random, so they don’t know your name and Social Security Number, even though they claim that they do. Your Social Security Number can be used to steal your identity, so NEVER give it out over the phone to someone you don’t know or trust. If you receive a call from a number or name unfamiliar to you, it’s best not to answer it. And don’t call them back. If it’s a scammer, your contact with them lets them know they have a warm body on the hook.
