I woke up this morn to find that someone had deposited $800 in my account. I was immediately suspicious. I wasn't expecting ANY money, from ANYONE, much less almost a grand from an anonymous donor. When I called the bank I got the same information that you all speak of. This same phone number to a Citibank in Delaware. I went to my local branch in person to report the incident and move all my account information. Luckily, I caught this action before it had done any major damages. My advice is similar to what you already know. If it seems suspicious, unlikely or odd chance of fate that you suddenly find yourself with a strange transactions on your account, have it investigated. There is no such thing as free money, free lunch or a free ride. Also, despite anti-virus software, firewalls and other security measures, personally monitoring your accounts is the best defense against scam artists. Always be proactive...if its your money, make it your responsibility.
