A lady called from this phone number for 4 days in a row - never left a message. When I finally answered the call she said she was from Discover saying that I had applied for a credit card and she needed to verify information. I had NOT applied for any card. I said I didn't want to verify any information because I didn't want a card so if they had an application they needed to discard it because someone falsly applied. She was VERY persistant in trying to get information. I hungup on her, and called a 1-800 that I have for Discover, and they said that they have no record of me applying for any cards and not to give any information to anyone from a number for them that doesn't begin with 800, 877 or 866, and that if they can't give a call back number or guarantee that they can send a letter to me, then they're fake.
They called me, I missed the call. I called them back, they claimed that they were Discover. I got a hold of someone and they sent me directly to a voicemail that wanted my card number...no way. I think its a fraud. I just called Discover at 1800discover and they said that no one from inside their agency called me...so someone is trying to pull a fast one. DONT enter your credit card number when this person/machine calls you!
