Answered the phone and was told there was a file against me. Hung up.

Claim they were a debt collector.  Supposedly account is over 120 days past due (its not) and they would take a 50 dollar check over the phone to bring account up to date.  When questioned as to the name of the company they were representing they refused to give any name.  As I thought SCAM!!!!!!  They were threatening, etc.  violating Fair Debt Collection Act left and right.  No notice in mail, when asked about their address so a certified letter could be sent to them the answer, "Well go ahead and ruin your credit."  OK.

Possibly this group.

(They seem to specialize in trying  to get people related to a deceased person to pay the deceased persons debts, even though the relative is not responsible.   They also collect on student loans.  They can be deceptive.

So called debt collector giving information about debt that is for another person. This is a direct violation of Federal Laws. Report filed with FTC.

They have called my work # consistently about a debt that is not mine. Demanded they remove my number from their filed and syated I'll will report them to the ftc.
