They called my brother's home and left a message asking to for a return call from the manager/executor of my father's estate who passed away over 8 years ago. They left no vital information other than a phone number. I'm certain this same agency called me in another State the previous month also asking about my father/brother by name. When I told them that my father was deceased, and that they were referring to my brother after they verified the age, I mistakenly told them that my brother no longer lived in my State. This is how they do it, folks. The information that you give out may seem innocent, but it's not. DO NOT GIVE ANYONE WHO IS CALLING YOU ANY INFORMATION AT ALL. LET THEM TELL YOU WHO THEY ARE AND WHERE THEY ARE CALLING FROM. IF THEY WERE LEGIT, THEY WOULD HAVE SENT YOU DOCUMENTATION ON LETTERHEAD. IRS, BANKS, CREDIT CARD COMPANIES DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. THEY WILL SEND YOU A LETTER OR SOME FORM OF CORRESPONDENCE. Most companies who make outbound calls will not ask you for vital information because they know you will not know who is really calling you. Don't make my mistake. Don't divulge anything personal at all. Just listen, and then ask a lot of questions. If it doesn't feel right, ask them to remove you from their call list, or just hang up.
These scumbags continue to call repeatedly. I talked to them once and told them the person in question left no estate and there was no money for them. They began to argue and I hung up on them. They have called many times since but I never answer. I am going to file a complaint with State AG.
