Person who clearly was calling from her personal cell phone purporting to be a rep with a consulting firm that can get a multi-year GSA contract with the federal government.
I bet you can, hon. How much do I need to pay you to get nothing in return?
Caller: We're trying to reach the owner of the business regarding a GSA contract with the Federal Government.
Me: And what contract is that?
Caller: The President or Owner will want to know about this GSA program allowing them to do business with the Federal Government.
Me: Since we already DO business with the Federal Government, it's a good bet the President and Owner of the business would be completely uninterested in speaking with you. Please remove us from your database and have a pleasant day. (click).
"Daniel" called about helping us secure a 5 year Federal contract and asked to speak to our owner. I asked if it was for a proposal and he said yes. I asked for him to email the information and we would review. He said he needed to talk to someone who could make financial decisions on behalf of the company. I asked him again to email me and we would review and pass it along. He said he didn't have email access but would look into a few things and call back. Very suspicious. Be careful about giving out any personal information to this person.
This is the same ole same ole spin off companies that are selling you access to government databases that you can access yourself. Subscription based. WILL NOT take a cut of supposed award when you get it. ALWAYS want payment up front. Don't know any of these that are finder fee based. All scams. Seem to come out of the wood word when you recert your SAM (old CCR) website. Hope this helps.
Same comment from Defense contractor above.....selling access to government bid sites when you can do it yourself for free. They charge a lot of money for their so-called service.
