What you have described is a classic dating scam. Any time - ANY time, and for any reason you are asked for money in this type of situation. It's a scam. Want to be sure? Here is a very, very, very simple way. Tell her you have to send her a check, & can send money NO other way. As your new ladyfriend is probably a man sitting in an internet cafe in Lagos, Nigeria (which is why 'she' can't phone), what address will you get from 'her'? Whatever you decide DO NOT send money.

This number is a Google phone number so the person texting you can be anywhere in the world. If the relationship can be to good to be true, it is. Always check the phone number on Google and call it to see if the person is real
