I got a call from the same number 855-707-6322 and when I called back he stated that I applied on line for a payday loan from ACE check cashing in 2009 and that if I don't pay $450, I would spend 11 months in jail for two serious charges. So I then asked him for his Bar number and he stated 602763MD and then I told him I was inside of the court house and I need him to give the clerk his bar number so she could look up his identity he was rude and started yelling he was filing charges against me and I asked him for a validation notice he refused. And he refused to talk with my lawyer but called me back and said they could look up his CPS #0406020008 and that he was a Broker Attorney. This Joe Ward guy is full of it.
My husband and I both received phone calls to our cell phones from someone going by the name Ms. Turner. States she is from the law office of Joe Ward, phone number 302-581-9158. She stated that I had not paid on a payday loan from 2008. They provided a number of KM5755. Stated that 2 alleged counts of falsification and some other charge and that they was going to take me to court and possibly have my drivers license suspended. When I asked her to provide me the proof that I signed or received a loan she stated that she had sent me one. I asked her what address. She gave me an address that was over 13 years old. I told her I would give her my current address and that she could send the documentation to prove this accusation and she became very rude and stated that I would get my papers when I go to court and she hung up. I then called her right back and told her that I have witnesses that I have attempted to give her my current address so she can provide me with the documentation that I requested so this matter can be settled and she yelled at me and told me not to call her law office back again. Then she hung up on me again. I guess she did not like me questioning her
I just received a call from Ms. Turner from a law office that when I asked she would not repeat the name. she also sated that I had taken a payday loan in 2009 and they were filing charges. of course when I told her it was a scam she spouted off my old address and stated that I call tell it to the judge. lol I told her that's fine because I have bank records to prove that the loan was never taken out and that Payday loans are illegal in the state of PA. I get these calls at least 1-2 times per week but this is the first time that the caller spoke English. Usually they threaten to come to my house and take me by force or that I am a B@#CH, I had one man threaten to rape me. I have contacted the FTC and Attorney Generals office but unfortunately they spoof numbers or disconnect the number they are calling from.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
Just got a call from an attorney joe ward threatening me with 2 counts of falsified information and stated case is here in Hillsborough County, Fl. I called him back and left a message. I have been on the internet To verify the legitimacy of his practice and I don't see anything. I do remember speaking to a lady Mrs. Turner or a Tina in the past about 2 legal matters that she said she mailed. She threatened me and I figured this was a scam.
i just got the same kind of message from a Joe Ward and saying the same thing said i had to pay $420 by tomorrow or else i was going to face 11 months prison time and a bunch of fines for falsified information and some other things. Im glad i decided to do some searching because i was freaking out
