Yes there is a process for bad checks to go through in each state and depending on the facts of the case Payday loans which can not prosecute in most states due to the fact that is a promise to pay in the future and post dated checks are not acceptable for criminal charges and again both parties are aware of lack of good funds at the time the check was issued. NSF there is a process in most states that the bad check was paid to and have to send notices with the appropriate state statues of fees allowed by the State Law. Closed Accounts as well due to the fact there are issues such as lost wallets, credit cards and checkbooks. Omni Mediation takes advantage of the working poor and scare tactics will work with them due to the fact they do not check out the Fair Debt Collection Practices Laws which is Federal Law and each state has their own laws in place to help the consumer as well....Sounds like Michael Gie likes to be a High Horse Bully Collector and be so righteous and justified in his answers, Karma does come around in some form or fashion to people that behave so much better than the average person and not share the true facts of debt collection which by the way Omni Mediation is not licensed to do Collections in many states by the Attorney Generals Office even if they are Omni Credit Services in Florida they also have to be licensed in the name they represent to the debtor and can not threaten police DA's or legal issues if the debt is a Civil Debt and the recordings I have heard tips them to being illegal debt collectors per the Fair Debt Collection Practices. Michael Gie is not a licensed attorney in any state that we could find and gets paid a percentage for all the collections he collects so who is money driven now.....Michael Gie......
This is a scam. They always leave a message to return call to 1-888-551-5070, the Omni Mediation Group. Claiming they are calling about a check fraud case in the county. I haven't written a check in 15 years.
Same thing They say they are about to file a case on a bad check I wrote. I have not written a check in years.
Received calls from 941-347-4820 last night and the guy said he was about to file a case but if I called back could go to mediation. 302-703-7141 called today and the woman said she was with "The Investigative Unit"
and that my case was being reviewed for possible action, if I wanted to talk to an agent press 1 or call them at 888-551-5070 or call Direct at 302 703-7141.
It sounds like they try to scare people into settling via a mediator on something they never did. Not saying this is fact as I just remember a guy I had on bond one time saying one of his con's was the above pitch explaining lawyer fees, court costs, damages, interest, ect even on a 50.00 check would become 5-8k and that he had a 24 hour window to settle for $2,000.00 if the person said I dont have that much he would say "I can only spend a few minutes on each case as they threw 1,000's on me. Tell me the most you can raise by 11:30am tomorrow and I will call and see if I can get them to accept it. It will need to be paid by CC or sent Western Union as by 1:00pm the case will be filed. He laughed and said "Of coarse I took whatever I could get and if I thought they were good for a couple hundred more I had another deal for that.
Again all I know is I have not written any checks in years and a bad check must go through a process.
Yes, not a scam and yes there are ramifications for writing a bad check one year ago or 6 years ago as long as the statute of limitations hasn't expired. Call your county DAs office or you can contact your courthouse and they will advise you of the same thing! I apologize if my call came as an inconvenience..............but I'm didn't write the bad check or take someone's goods without paying for them!
Well in regards to your statement,.............We can provide the legal copy of your check!!!! Date and time stamped stating it's insufficient??? That's from your bank. So how many people have you ripped off with a bad check ?
