Received 2 calls on my cell phone and caller ID said Bagher Hossein. I did not answer because I did not recognize the name or number. I called the number back and it went to voice mail and said the phone was mark baker, his phone was hacked and call was a scam
Just got a call from this number with the name Bagher Hossein 303-333-9999. Did not answer and began to look for information about this called on my computer. This man is trying to get people's credit card information.
Caller id showed up as 303-333-9999 and as best_agent. Caller had Indian/Pakistan type accent and said he was from Dish Network. Claimed that Dish was changing satellites and wanted to verify that my dish receiver would be compatible. After finding out what type of receiver I had he said that it was non-compatible and that I would need a new one.
This is when I went on offensive and asked whether this was scam as his caller id data wasn't correct. Then I asked for technical info as to what was changing. He couldn't tell me the info. I told him that I was an ex-dish technician and his info wasn't jiving with me. Within a few moments he hung up so I never let him get to the parts like others here have stated.
Ok.. did some research on this number as there are many different post as to what this number may be for. We have had the same issue with our phone line coming up as 303-333-9999 when calling out. Trust me we are not from a foreign country or are looking to scam anyone. Apparently if your caller id is typically blocked or comes up anonymous when calling a Verizon number, it will show up as the number above. From what I have been told this only works when calling a Verizon number (not 100% certain). We have tried to reach out to Verizon but do not seam to get any straight answers out of them. I do find that it is quite strange that the message left is obviously from a foreigner and he indicates it is a scam. We have even left him several message and no calls back. I can assume that this may happening to any institution that has call block and is trying to call a Verizon phone.
If anyone has any thoughts please share as we are trying to get to the bottom of this as well.
