Just got a message from my grandparents stating I needed to call fredrick....which sounded familiar.. a little over a year ago they tried this same stuff.. but with a different pointguard....his name was stan or something last time...he called 8 of my relativss..
This person said he was from a lawyers office. And they were taking me to court for a us bank checking account. After I chated with this person for a few min I asked him some detalis about my account he said he didnt have them. Hmm. Then I asked him if I could make a payment next month and then the following month he said I am not sure the lawyer is out to lunch ill call u back. I didnt get a phone call back so I called the number he gave me he then said oh yes I rember that let me check and call you back in about 10 min with in two mins he called from 719-359-9505 which is a local number for me. He said due to the nature of the account I had to pay all of it today. I told him no. He then asked for my employers information i told him I dont feel comfortable giving that out he then hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak with the actual attorney. He started yelling at me and saying your crazy I am going to run your credit and garnish your pay check I am going to ruien your credit and on and on and on and all I asked was could I speak to the att. WOW is all i have to say I am trying to find out if this is a scarm or a real company who is use very abusive tacktics to collect a debt.
Check this out. I just got off the phone with U.S. Banks headquarters and they said the next time you get a call to get an account number and call 18664342103 to verify with U.S. Bank recovery team if it is in fact an actual account. Otherwise take their [***] to court.
Yeah, this is totally bogus. This isn't even a legitimate debt collection agency. They harass people on the phone until you are afraid and give them money.
DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE.
The man who called me was named Frederick Edwards and said he was from James Stanley's law firm. There is NOT a James Stanley practicing law in Denver. This is a scam. They may seem to have legitimate information, but they cannot and will not send any money to any of your legitimate creditors.
Also, I dealt with a legitimate creditor and told them I had declared bankruptcy. They IMMEDIATELY asked for my case number and stopped calling. If you have declared bankruptcy, a legitimate creditor will stop harassing you.
Fredrick Edwards.... hmmm.. I got this call, needless to say not going to call back, thanks! Due to the naturde he wasn't going to tell me and wasn't going to call alternate numbers for 24 hours.
