I got a phone call from this collection agency. I called the people I had the debt with and they said they had not put it on a collection agency yet, so they did not understand. I paid my debt directly with the people I owed money, but they kept calling and threaten me to put in on my credit report. They are very annoying. They also did not send me a bill directly from them because my address was not in the U.S. Because I live now in one of the territories, I still do not understand why they said my address did not exist. They also have this number 1-800-864-3870.
I got a call from them too! They are extremely bitchy and use forceful words to try and get me to give them a checking acct number and routing number. It was scary because the knew the exact amount that I owed and everything. Be very careful.
The bottom line with any phone call from a collections agency is don't let them push you around. Be assertive and don't let them force you into a payment plan you can't afford. They get paid on commission, that's why they are a**holes on the phone. Don't let them push you around, take charge of the conversation and let them know what you can do financially. Don't forget too, that they are regulated by the FCC. Check out the FCC website for a whole list of laws they have to follow. If you have been the victim of harassment by a collections agency, report them the FCC. Even though most collections agengies don't think they have to respect your rights, FEDERAL laws state they do.
The FCC has very limited jurisdiction. It's actually the FTC with primary industry oversight, at least for now while the CFPB is still deciding where to put all the office furniture.

They probably have all your information and know exactly how much you owe, because your creditor is tired of chasing you around, so they hired some other person to do it for you.
