Someone with a Middle Eastern accent called saying that he was from Hewlett Packard and that they have been receiving errors from my computer. I stopped him right there and told him that it was a scam and to f*** off. I am aware of this con where they call and tell you that your computer is sending them errors and they have to dial into your computer to fix it. DON'T FALL FOR THIS!!!

yes - same scam - pretended to be from Hewlett Packard - also gave me this call back number - 424-396-1062 and a website www.smarturl/hptool which didn't register - only use the official HP website on your computer to talk to real HP support people - HP never calls you - they correspond with you thru their chat box on the HP support website
The guy called me for the 4th time this week. I didn't answer any of the other calls but I finally did. I told him he has the wrong number because I "don't have an HP... I have a Dell" and he said "oh, is this Brittany ______?" and I said no and gave him a fake name. He said sorry that he must have the wrong number and wouldn't bother me again.
We'll see.....
