SMS Text Spammer. Received 6/10/12. I live in the suburbs of Greater Orlando.
You have been selected to receive a FREE $50 Target Gift Voucher Call 1-866-938-9168 to redeem.
See my post dated 6/10/12, reported about the 866 number I just typed above. It has more details on another spammer that this may be related to. The other spam text said:
BestBuy is giving out FREE $1,000 Gift Cards! Enter code: "FREE407" at www.bestbuy.com.bcfz.biz to claim yours now. Only 122 left! tx out to stp
I received the one above just a week earlier. I have forwarded and email that text and all the related information to Best Buy headquarters for their legal team to review because that text is stating that BEST BUY is giving away the cards, and that's a clear charge of FRAUD. They created a spam/phishing website to boot, that appears to be but is NOT a link in the official Best Buy website.
FORWARD ALL MESSAGES FROM THESE FOLKS TO BEST BUY AND TARGET HEADQUARTERS. They have legal teams that are actively looking to bust these people. They have a lot of money and resources to do so. Also forward it to the DO NOT CALL violations website.
The fact that they made a fraudulent statement is a pretty good indication that these spammers WILL be hunted and prosecuted. EVERYONE pitch in, report ALL text and calls received from ANY of these numbers, and HELP THEM GET THESE PHISHING SPAMMERS!
