These calls started when my husband clicked on a link on facebook for a free Subway card. He said he started to fill in his information but when it asked for a credit card number he closed it. And so the texts and calls began.
On the second call today I decided to answer. A lady said she was calling about the survey I filled out for Profinity.com (she asked for my husband but I just told her it was me). It was very loud wherever she was, hard to hear her, quite unprofessional. Before she got into her script I asked if there was any way I could get my name and phone number taken off their contact list, and she huffed and simply said, "yes" and hung up. No apology for the inconvenience, just a huffy "yes" and a hang up. So, hopefully it will stop the calls.
I also registered for the Do Not Call list today and called my cell phone provider to watch my account and make sure no unsolicited charges were getting attached to it.
This was one of two numbers that suddenly started calling, so I'm guessing the other is for the same thing. (978) 570-2445. If that number calls again I'll answer and do the same.
I just got a call from this number 304-841-0014, and I believe it is connected with a survey that comes after I checked the weather with Accuweather. It was first a political one with a few questions saying if you fill this out you can get one of three prizes, and then goes on to have you fill out more, but get this; it has NiXFliX and Target logos on and looks rather official and if you put YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER HERE to get a $25 voucher from Target...so I am so reporting them to the FCC and comsumer fraud; scam etc. and Target's Executive Office...there many more to choose from, but those are the two I saw....as you could pick two...so be aware do not fill out the questionaire on who you would vote for.
When I tried calling this number back it said it had been disconnected or was no longer in service, YEAH, right it wasn't.
