Tax Scam Call - Said it was the IRS and there was a Tax Fraud Case against whoever answered the phone. I am a Tax CPA and I know this is a Fraud. The IRS does not robo call and it does not reveal any taxpayer information (Tax Fraud Case) to any random person who answers the phone
Got the call and called them back. Indian call center where I owed them $5000 even though I gave them a fake name and never spelled or verified anything else. The authorities were on their way to arrest me right then even though no address was confirmed. I went along with it for a while until they told me I needed to go to the "IRS Store" and buy Tax Vouchers. I asked them where the IRS Store was and they told me it was Walgreens or CVS Pharmacy. I then called them out on their scam and was called several choice names and hung up on.
Message states: " We've received legal petition notice concerning a tax fraud against you, so before this matter goes to the federals claims court house or you are arrested call us immediately… Number reported to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration' office.
