Received a call from this number at 10:31am pst. Asked for owner, when I stated he was out, she asked for office manager and I asked if I could help her. She stated she was Angelica calling from Local Business Connections about our listing. She asked if we were going to 'roll over' our 'agreement' or would this be final payment. I asked if there was a signed contract. She stated it was either a signed contract or a voice recorded agreement. Having dealt with ALL TOO MANY of this type of company, I stated no - there is no agreement, we don't do this type of thing. I wanted to do some due diligence on her company, so I asked if there was a number I could call her back on after I did some research. She said let me get you the corporate number and promptly hung up on me. I could find no information under this company name on the BBB website, it did come up as a local business type company in Florida, but I could find no contact information. When I called back the number she called me on, I got a very broken up voice recording that said the mailbox was full and that there had been an error.
A client Of SPG Consultants Wrote "I I received a phone call on July 28th from Joe Johnson at 1-305-507-8490 (caller ID). He was calling to confirm and renew our listing. I told him I did not authorize this and understood it could be part of a marketing scam. The call disconnected.
A moment later I received a call from a woman from the "Quality Department" who stated I had just spoken to Jason. I told her I did not speak to a Jason, it was a Joe Johnson. She argued about who I had spoken to and was very rude and condescending in her tone.
I also repeated that I understood this was part of a marketing scam. I asked her to fax me an invoice, but it would not be paid. She then disconnected the call. "
this is typical of a scam process
