I had a very similar experience.  They called and asked if we wanted to continue my service as before before they send out the new invoice.  I said i have no idea what you are referring to, I have no such service.  She said uh uh ok, and hung up.

I am treasurer of my church, and we have received similar calls, except they played a recording of one of our members accepting an invoice for their "service" for $779.00 on behalf of the church.  They have no web site.  They are incorporated in the state of Georgia.  Have an address in Marietta GA.  Better Business Bureau of Marietta gives them a rating of "F" on a scale of A (best rating) to F (poorest rating)  At this point, we are refusing to pay the invoice.

Yep...it just happened to me a few minutes ago, and was I upset!   Believe me, I would remember if I had ordered simplified online search (what's that?) for 479.99 !   They said that they have never received payment,,,,and that the account had now been sent to the creditors.

WHOA...wait one minute!!!

They didn't have my email address....didn't have my correct address.  I told them I was not going to give them one thing.  If I had a contract, it should have all the information they need.  The fact that a payment has never been made should have been a clue!

This caller only showed the numbers 201....everything else was masked.

This is a variant on this scam...

A couple months ago I got a call from Simplified Online Search.  The fellow told me that my boss (and he called my boss by name) said the he decided to cancel their service.  This call was to confirm our information.  I said, "Ok."  I was put on with another person who confirmed the business address, my name and position, and that we were cancelling the service.  She also told me that the conversation was being recorded.  I wasn't aware we had the service, but my boss may not have told me. I didn't give them any information that they couldn't get from our website.  I was then asked how we would pay the remainder of the invoice.  I said that I didn't know (that was one of the options they gave me).  She thanked me and said an invoice in the amount of $479 would be sent.

Thinking this was a scam, I asked my boss about it later that day.  He never heard of them, we never received any service from them, he never called to cancel the nonexistent account and he told me not to worry about it.  No invoice showed up in the mail.

Yesterday, I received a call which the caller ID showed as "unknown" and it was a collector from Simplified Online Search asking about the outstanding bill.  He said he had a recording of me accepting their service from 2011.  I said I never did that and the only recording they had of me was when we were supposedly cancelling their service.  He said he could play back the recording.  I told him he'd need to talk to my boss.  He confirmed our fax number (again something that could be gotten from our website) and faxed us an invoice for the original $479 plus two months of late fees.

I told the boss about the invoice.  He said we are not going to pay.

It's a scam!  What company gives you a year's worth of service and then charges you for it?  And during that year never gives you any indication that they are giving any service at all?  What legit company shows up as "unknown" on the caller ID?

I'm waiting for them to call back.  I'll tell them we'll pay on our business VISA.  It's number 4872 GO SCREW YOURSELF!

Have been receiving calls from this company for about two months now stating that we have a paet due bill from march , meanwhile we didnt open our doors till March . They are saying we owe them over $1000 dollars for a service we never signed up for , they also said they have a recording that we agreed to their service , which is BS. If they call you stating this DONT PAY THEM ANYTHING. As far as Im concerned they are a total scam. They have a F rating with BBB. One different thing they have been calling and faxing me from Marrieta Georgia (877)580-1515. Beware fellow business owners.
