3-5 calls per week from (305) 587-2153. If I don't answer, they leave no message. If I answer, they disconnect. When I call the number back, it says it is a Telemarketer for a Free Publication and if I want removed to leave a message with my name and the number to be removed. Then it goes on to state that the mail box is full and disconnects.
Caller ID says Circulation. Get a call a few times a week from this number. Most of the time the call disconnects at the same moment I pick up the phone but today there was a woman with a thick accent who asked for our technical proposals manager. I'm sure it's to "renew" his "free magazine subscription" as we get those types of calls constantly. Once I can determine the nature of these calls, I make a note of the Caller ID and next time they call I simply pick up the line and put them on hold. They eventually hang up. It doesn't stop the calls but at least I don't need to talk to them.
This number has called my work several times and when I pick up they have hung up or hang up before I finish my greeting. Not sure who it is or why they are calling.
My experience is similar to Snurf's, they call several times a week and if I pick up, there's no one there. I suspect it's one of my free trade magazines trying to verify subscriptions except their predictive dialing program is calling way more people than they have agents to handle so most of the calls are just dropped because no one is there to answer. But I'm just guessing since I haven't been able to talk to a body.
