I also received a call from an Indian woman saying that my computer was sending error messages and I needed to have this fixed. I said, ok...which of the six is it? She said it's the one that is very old. I said, then it's not me, mine are less than 6 months. She said, yes, the six month one is the very old one. I asked for the IP address and she said she didn't have it but she knew it was coming from my system. I said, well, actually I only have two computers and neither is registered to me and they are both MAC computers so can you tell me how you got my information? She said no, and I said then when you can find out how and give me some kind of proof of why you are calling me even though I don't even have a computer registered to me, then call me with all the facts. she said ok then hung up. lol...
I received a call from this number claiming to be from the Windows Service Center. I asked if they were with Microsoft and was told they had merged with Microsoft. I was also told they were receiving warning notifications from my computer, and got my phone number from my IP address. All obvious lies.
They wanted to remotely access my computer, and hung up quickly when they found out I was a computer tech.
Do not buy whatever these people are selling. Do not give them access to your computer or your employer's computer.
I got a call from this # and it was a voice of an asian man saying that my computer is going to crash if I do not fix it on time. I said to him my computer is not working and he said tell me what its doing? I said I got of hold of At&t and they are taking care of it...Then he Ended the Call!!
I also got a call from an Indian woman saying she was with Windows Service Center...I listened for a while and she had me pull up some things on my pc saying there were errors and warnings that my pc was going to crash. I asked how she got my number she said I was registered etc...well this is a company pc so I highly doubt that my number is associated. I asked her what her point was...what was she selling. She said..oh we aren't selling anything trying to make it look like she was really concerned about my computer crashing. I let her go on for a while then told her it was a company pc and that I have my own tech support. They are trying to sell services or maybe worse yet...just get access to your pc to do more sinister things.
When I called 305-760-4127 right back it said that it was a disconnected #. I am on the no call list so why are they calling my cell phone? How do I stop these calls if it shows disconnected?
