Scam. Woman claims to be calling from the local auto dealership where we purchased a vehicle years ago. Claimed she wanted to help set up a "scheduled service" appointment. She didn't even know how to pronounce the vehicle model properly. I checked the dealership's website and the number was not listed for any of their many departments. Number appears to be spoofed on Caller ID as being legit from dealership.
received a call, caller id read "Card Services". Called back, got "press 1 for English..... this number appeared on your caller id because you received a call from your card services institution". The call consisted of a female identifying herself by 1st and last name, claiming to be with Bank of America. She proceeded to offer information about a new "deluxe" program where I would be eligible for $500-$3000 that I would not have to repay, for things like a move, a marriage, family leave.... confirmed I was still primary card holder, then offered to mail me the info. BUT, then said she needed to confirm my date of birth, and then asked me to tell her my DOB. This sounds like a phisher!
I received a phone call from 305-777-9799 and talked with a lady who had typical African American accent. She told me that they work with Bank of America and I am eligible for $500-$3000, and asked me date of birth. I refused to give my information to her, and asked her to remove my phone number out of their phone list.
I believe this phone call was a scam, and if they are calling from BOFA, they should have my information in the first place.
If you receive a phone call from this phone number, just be careful and DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION TO ANYBODY UNLESS YOU ARE CALLING YOUR BANK.
Several days in a row, I received a phone call from this number. Usually I am on the bus at this time, but today I answered. The woman told me that I could enroll in a new program where I would be eligible for $500-$3000 that I would not have to pay back (some sort of emergency insurance program? like Aflac?) in the event of an accident, unemployment, divorce, etc. I told her I was not interested, but she then proceeded to explain more benefits of the program. I tried several times to interrupt her, until she finally took a breath. I again said I was not interested, and asked to be taken off the list. She so quickly rattled off the "do not call, 30 days to process, call BoA" information that I could barely understand her, before she rather abruptly hung up on me.
They told me they are calling from FIAservices (my cc)
... offering benefits $500/month for three months... if I pay memebrship $19.99
and then asked for my DOB
