this was a call from a company called premier gateway, and were offering a free trip. this company actually transfered me to a outside number 6 646 537 3462
Got a third call from this number the other day. Every time it has been about my vehicle warranty expiring. I know it's a scam, I don't own a car.
First time they called I started off with an accusatory tone "who is calling?" and got hung up on.
Second call I played into their game a little more, "gee, which car are you calling about, I own 2.. a Jeep and a Honda" and they didn't want to participate and was disconnected.
Third call, I tried to play along as best I could. "Ok, I own a 1998 Honda Prelude and I'm glad you called I don't want my warranty to expire!" in the mean time I could hear tons of people talking in the background - most likely other phone agents, but it appeared to be more, a couple people talking louder than others, perhaps just standing nearby. So I made a casual comment like "seems to be a lot of people there, you must be busy this time of day" and the caller made some generic comment, covered up the microphone and kept me on the phone for another 2 minutes saying they were looking something up on their computer before they eventually hung up. Maybe I needed to say a newer model car? I'm determined to find out who these people are because the moment you start to ask questions they'll hang up, and obviously calling the number back leads you nowhere.
Whenever I see that joke 305 area code, I know it's a bogus call. Thank goodness for caller I.D. As other posters have said, NEVER give out personal or financial info to a caller. If it was a "legit" company that you do business with, they would have it!
However, just to "screw" with these "sleaze bag" telemarketers, I am going to file a complaint with www.donotcall.gov and I sugggest other posters hre to the same!!
called saying they could offer lower interest rate on credit card. played along with them and asked which credit card would that be. he said MC or Visa.
i asked him did he need the number also. he said i need the 15 digit account number. i informed him that i was going to report this call.
i call the number back and they picked up and hung up immediately.
