It is an automated dialer and will call continually until somebody answers. The employees have no idea who they are calling our how many times you are called. But as long as you answer and simply tell them to take you off their call list then the calls will stop. If you tell them you are not interested, you will be put on alist that calls you back in two days. It's ridiculous!
After getting about eight calls yesterday and four today, I finally answered just to see who it was. The first time earlier today there was no response on the other end. I called back the number and it came back as disconnected, so clearly they are spoofing the number. They also use a robodialer, which is illegal in many jurisdictions. Finally this afternoon they picked up. It is from something like JWB Services. They claim they are servicing magazine subscriptions and offered to extend our subscription to Better Homes and Gardens for three years at $1.21 per issue and will include Family Circle for the same time frame. The problem is that we bought our BHG subscription directly from the publisher, so this is a third-party with which we have no prior business relationship. Technically this is a violation of the DNC rules. But I was very wary of this offer so I just told the caller that we'd prefer to buy directly from the publisher. The caller was actually polite and said thank you and hung up. There was no rudeness or hard sell. So if you just answer and then tell them you'd prefer to buy directly from the publisher, they will leave you alone.
I received a call today too and went to the website switchboard.com I put their number in reverse telephone numbers and it came thru as level 3 communications in Wyoming. They have called several times. Gotta love caller ID !!!
