I keep getting calls with this long list of numbers as the name. They are very aggravating. I have asked to be removed from their call list but that doesn't seem to work.

I just got a call from this number.  I did not answer and they did not leave a message.   Since they did not leave a message I assume they are telemarketers and so I have added this number to my blocked call list.

My phone number has been on the National Do Not Call Registry since August 2003 so if they are telemarketers, they are violating the law.

To block calls like this I got a Panasonic KX-TGE245B that allows me to block up to 250 numbers and/or area-codes.  Panasonic has several new 2014 models that will block that many numbers.  You simply save the CID to the blocked list.  You can also block area codes by adding them to what they call a “Range List” (you are blocking the range of numbers starting with that area code).

I dialed the wrong number once, apparently it was this company, I meant to dial a Social Security Administration.
This company calls almost every other day.
I push "5" on my dial, which is supposed to take my name off the list.
This has been going on for over 3 months.
I actually started talking to a person today and she hung up on me.

(307) 316-7473 Robo call recorded 4 September 2014 ("Recently there were 281,000 hospital admissions for hip fractures...free medical alert alarm..." SCAM)
Caller ID: "Cheyenne WY"

also calls from: (586) 231-3657

New variation of the "free medical alert alarm" offer starting with a statistic that there are recently 281,000 hospital admissions for hip fractures and 1 out of 5 sufferers die within a year. This is scary enough to make me hold on to my credit card and not get a system from a stranger calling my phone to quote hospital statistics about fractures.

Of course they ignore the Federal Do Not Call list, which certainly tells us something about their business ethics, doesn't it?

Here is a transcript of this "free Medical alert" offer:

[me:] Hello?

[they:] "Recently there were 281 thousand hospital admissions for hip fractures among people age 65 and older and one out of five hip fracture patients die within a year of their injury. Don't gambol with your personal health and safety. Get a free medical alert system shipped to you for free with no charge for activation but you must act now. Press one to get your free system. Press five to be removed but to be protected 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, press one now." [7 second pause] "Good bye.".

[At least they didn't say "...laying on the floor..." or "...for help just press a buh-uhn..." Gotta give them credit for this, lol.]
