Call came on July 1, 2015, at 2:18 PM MDT. No name on caller ID. Female caller asked for me by name. When I acknowledged my name, there was a pause, and it sounded like she connected me to a recording. It was regarding cancer research. I hung up. Years ago I donated some money to breast cancer research when a college student living next door to me was collecting, in person, for such an organization. Now I get phone calls from cancer research organizations, year after year, but not always from the same number. I do not respond to requests for donations over the phone from any organization, but particularly not cancer research, because I recently read an article that said less than 20% donated to cancer research actually goes toward research.
