My wife has received these calls for the past week as well. I suggest calling their number, and asking the person who answers if you can count on there vote for Clinton/McCain/Romney.

When I called Verizon Wireless, the guy I spoke with said that there wasn't a way to block the number and that he was unfamiliar with phone numbers coming up as zeroes in caller ID. On a side note, I did check out the FCC online and found out that non-profit orgs are exempt from the Do Not Call list... so I suppose it is possible that it really was someone from the Obama campaign doing phone canvassing. I got another call this morning and I wanted to ask how they obtained my name and number, and also inquire about why their number showed up zeroes. However, when I answered, the call ended.
Something else, one of my friends told me that when her friends contact her using Skype, it shows up as zeroes in the caller ID. I'm not familiar with Skype...has anyone else experienced this?
I will keep checking back here to see if anyone else actually talks to the mysterious caller... I will feel much better if someone can corroborate the Obama thing.
As for the user mentioning Surfwallah... that is very interesting, but I wonder if maybe they are not yet a completely established company and therefore do not actually have a phone or address yet--they may be testing out their site...so maybe they are an unwitting red herring?
And yet another side note--I live in WA & have WA ph #, but lived in LA county for 2 years with this cell phone & was registered to vote there. Is everyone else here from southern California?
AHA!! I see that the person who just posted above my last post (probably while i was typing my long-winded entry) made a reference to powerpac!! I think that is who called me!
