I received a call from this number and it said that it was Wells Fargo and that there was a problem with my debit card. Then they said that there had been a temporary freeze placed on my debit card and that I was to press a number and would reach their security line.
I immediately hung up and called Wells Fargo Bank to report fraud.
Don't fall for this...it is someone trying to get your information!!!
Hope this prevents anyone else from falling for this.
I too received a call from this number and it said that it was Wells Fargo and that there was a problem with my debit card. However, I don't even have a debit card from Wells Fargo. As with Lana, they said that there had been a temporary freeze placed on my debit card and that I was to press a number and would reach their security line.
I too hung up! TOTALLY BOGUS!!!
Like Lana said, "Don't fall for this...it is someone trying to get your information!!!"
Hope this prevents anyone else from falling for this.
I just received the same message and waited for the voicemail- so I didn't answer. I also got a text from "Wells Forgot" to call them for fraud. SCARY!
Yeah I got called 3 times in a row with in 10 minutes on my verizon cell phone, here on July 27th the first at 7:06, then 7:11 and the last one at 7:17, mountain time. Usually only people I know call three times, not even debt collectors call more than twice, and they always leave messages.
I have no bank account with Wells Fargo or their partners, and I am in Salt Lake County/Davis County Area.
They didn't leave a message, but if they call again, I will answer and get to the bottom of this.
