Called claiming to have serviced my AC unit in the past.
Service company out of Canoga Park, CA - Didn't catch the name but he had all my info
After I told him they had bad sales techniques because they NEVER serviced my AC, he threatened that he knew where I lived.
When I asked it that was a threat, he hung up on me
A family member received a phone call from this number saying that we had an appointment with him for ac and duct cleaning. The family member asked how they got his cell number as they do not live here. The person on the line kept asking the family members name and the family member in return kept asking him his name. The guy told my family member it was rude not to answer and my family member said the same and hung up on him. We do not have ac with ductwork anyway, so very bad sales technique stealing numbers of people and trying to sell them stuff they did not order.
Also got a call from this outfit, but the blocker nailed it due to the obvious spoofed number. Many crooks are beginning to use spoofed numbers beginning with an area code and the number 1 as the first digit. Of course, there are no such numbers in existence, so it is simple to just program wildcards such as 714-1****** or 310-1****** , along with being able to block calls from phony area codes (www.bennetyee.org/ucsd-pages/area.html).
