Came up as missed call and left voice mail instructing "this is not a sales call". I googled the phone number and brought up this site so I knew not to return the call. This call has come up before after I received a new phone number at Christmas but it was an 800 number. I called it back and it too answered American Agency. I have no unpaid debts or settled debts at all and never have.
This company is in India. I called back not knowing what the scam was all about, took awhile for it to connect and someone from India with a bad accent answered the phone. I asked him where this company was located and he said Chicago, I asked him where he was calling from and he refused to say where. Hummmm he was trying to collect on an old bill from 1998 that had already been paid. I believe 7 years is the longest they can try to collect on a unpaid bill. I already paid it and he wanted proof.
