OMG How do they get through. I just blocked again!! This is now my 6th report on this same number.
I blocked this number on October 23rd just last month. Did they figure out how to unblock?????
People please don't answer your phone unless it's a number you recognize. Even if it's someone you know and if important, they will leave a message. These scumbags do not deserve to even hear your voice. My phone rings twice and goes straight to voicemail. I check my voicemail at my convenience.
I've been called by this number before. Today our city put this out:
Rancho Palos Verdes Neighborhood Watch has advised us that a home improvement telephone scammer currently seems to be targeting seniors by posing as a “supervisor” for the “RPV Senior Discount Program.” They start off asking if you’re satisfied with the quality of some recent City project or construction in your area (such as road work, etc.), and then try to convince residents that their homes need repairs such as roofing and painting. The number that may appear on your caller ID is (310) 277-5434, which is known to be a “spoofed” number used for these types of scams (Google this number and see what pops up!).
There is no City-sponsored “RPV Senior Discount Program” for home repairs or any other services, and no City employee will ever try to sell you a product or service over the phone. If someone representing themselves as a City employee contacts you unsolicited by telephone in this manner, get their name, hang up and call City Hall a
